Perceptive Software is seeking to fill the position of Java Software Developer. The basic responsibilities of this position would include analysis, design, development, unit testing, code consolidation, and code maintenance projects of our document imaging and workflow management software. In addition, there will be opportunities to work with design/analysis teams in developing modules for new product types and help to provide strategies for Q/A testing. Also, creation of internal documentation for development while assisting a professional documentation expert with the end user documentation would be expected. Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with key Perceptive Software customers across multiple industry segments to help define ongoing development requirements. In addition, they will communicate well, verbally and in writing, with both technical and nontechnical employees, external partners, and customers. A willingness to provide technical analysis and recommendations for proposed new product enhancements is required. Successful candidates will be highly proficient in their profession and detail oriented.
We are seeking candidates from the regional Kansas City area.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience required
- Experience developing industrial strength web-based client/server applications for MS Windows, Apple Macintosh, and/or Unix using Java, Swing
- 2-5 years developing windows applications required
- Strong experience in object oriented design and programming with full software development life cycle.
- Familiarity with multiple hardware/software development environments, languages and technologies including MS Windows and Unix variants
- Knowledge of relational databases
- Experience with MS-SQL or Oracle databases, both high and low level programmatic integration, is highly desirable
- Prior experience in a high volume consumer business a big plus
- Priority will be given to resumes that arrive with information outlining programming abilities in Java.
